Wells -
next - the - sea...
is a
charming town with narrow streets, pubs, a choice of restaurants and quaint
shops. There are some lovely places to eat, both in town and nearby. It has a
traditional fishing harbour which is only 5 minutes walk from the cottage, and a
beautiful wide sandy beach backed by sand dunes and pinewoods, which form part
of a nature reserve. It is situated in part of Norfolk designated as an area of
outstanding natural beauty. The beach can be reached by a leisurely walk along
the sea wall. Alternatively there is a small gauge railway which operates in the
main season, or a very short car journey.
It’s a fantastic place to unwind, get some fresh
air and escape the pressures of modern life. This is an all year round
destination, with many places to visit including The Sandringham Estate, the
Queens Norfolk retreat, whose grounds and museum are open to the public, Holkham
Hall and Burnham Market, to name but a few.
